Spaces for Thinking – How Technology-Enhanced Classrooms Can Support Humans Without Displacing Them
Monday October 7, 2024 1:35pm - 2:25pm CDT
There is a tremendous potential for more effective integration of technology into educational spaces, and many questions remain about what “effective” actually means. This session will delve into the opportunities for space design to increase both ease of access and impacts to learning for educational technologies like AI, while also wrestling with how to keep the focus of classroom environments on students and learning rather than the tools themselves. The emphasis of the session will be on engaging a variety of perspectives, both enthusiastic and critical of AI technologies, to discuss how each educator can re-align their classroom environment to support their planned uses of learning technology contextualized in their personal pedagogy.
